From the Mouth of Sofia

The Greek word for "yes" is neh, while the Greek word for "no" is oxi (pronounced o-hee). Meanwhile, the French word for "yes" is oui, while the French word for "no" is non. This can get very confusing, especially when you're only 20-months old and you're surrounded by Greek, French and English speakers. Sofia seems to have mastered the word "no", but she's only now starting to use the word neh, sometimes with mixed results:

Sofia: Uh-oh, Daddy! Ka-ka!

Me: Did you go ka-ka, Sofia?

Sofia: Neh.

Me: Ok, well then let's go change your diaper.

Sofia: No.

Me: But you said you went ka-ka.

Sofia: No.

Me: So, then did you lie to Daddy?

Sofia (sheepishly): Neh....
