On our way to brunch this morning, Pegs and I had to cross boulevard St. Michel. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, St. Michel is a one-way street,
except for the bus lane. Pegs started crossing the street against the light because there were no cars coming from our right, but I pulled her back when I saw a bus coming from the opposite direction (i.e., from our left). As the bus flew by, I said, "I wonder how many people get killed crossing this street because they don't think to look left for the bus." Pegs, unshaken by her near-death experience, calmly replied, "I don't know. But I bet none of them are British."

Hilarious! Pegs’ response, not her near death experience.
