And the winner is....

When you've spent as much time buying real estate as Raph "Buy-Buy-Buy" Charon has, you're bound to pick up a thing or two about pricing properties. Raph put his hard-earned skills to use last week to win the chateau guessing game by a landslide with a bid of 1.9 million euro (aaaaaactual retail price: 1.47 million). His prize? A lifetime supply of floor wax, for all his apartment floor body surfing needs.

We don't like to call anyone a "loser" here, but here's the list of non-winners and their consolation gifts:

2nd Place: Kathryn "Queen-of-Queens" Kallison-Schwesinger, with a bid of 2.95 million, who wins a lifetime supply of alliterations.

3rd Place: Panagiota "Y-O-D-A-Yoda" Alexandropoulos, with a bid of 3.25 million, who wins a (very) slightly used copy of The Masters Series: How to Play Bridge.

4th Place: Derek "It's-spelled-EK-not-RICK" Vanderpool, with a bid of 4 million, who wins a one-month extension on his next term paper deadline.
5th Place: Claire "Oops" Skrinda and Rita "Dizzy" Charon, who both opened the link prior to guessing the price, each win a change in the game's format: the full link to the chateau will now be posted with the winner info.
Thanks to all for playing!

I'm still shocked at how cheap this chateau is. Lee, I have a great idea for my Christmas gift.

Obviously, "cheap" is a relative term, but yeah, I'm surprised, too. I've seen ads here in Palo Alto for "great fixer-upers" that were that expensive. Maybe the walls are crumbling.........or it's haunted!!!!!
