The most interesting conversation I've had all week

While walking Lee to work yesterday morning:

Lee: Why is it make and made and take and took?
Me: What?
Lee: Why is the past tense of make made and the past tense of take took?
Me: I have no idea. Does it really matter?
Lee: It just seems stupid. If the past tense of make is made then shouldn't the past tense of take be tade? Or the past tense of made be mook?
Me: I guess.
Lee: The English language just doesn't make sense.
Me: It's not just English, all languages have little quirks like that.
Lee: Yeah whatever, you don't know.

About 45 seconds later we walk by a poster of a new French Pirates of the Caribbean rip off :

Lee: It's so cool that they can do the posters like that.
Me: What are you talking about?
Lee: You see that poster? All of those people were photographed separately and then they combined the individual pictures together to make the poster.
Me: That's great honey.
Me: You know what fascinates me?
Lee: What?
Me: Cameras in general.
Lee: What do you mean?
Me: The fact that you can push a button on a little small device and create an image of something that is going to last forever.
Lee: Not forever. What if it gets destroyed?
