Happy Belated Easter
Sorry we failed to wish you all a Happy Easter ahead of time; we went on vacation to Mont St. Michel and didn't feel up to posting yesterday when we got back. More on our vacation later, but for now here's a fun list of Easter trivia that you can share with both of your non-Christian friends when they ask you what you did this weekend:
1. Greeks celebrate Easter by dying boiled eggs red and cracking them together. The last person whose egg remains uncracked is then spit upon by the entire village to bring him or her good luck.
2. Peoples of the Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant faiths all celebrated Easter this weekend, marking the first time that these religions have agreed to do anything together since they collectively panned Steve Guttenburg's performance in Police Academy 3: Back in Training.
3. In France, the bells of Rome (and not the Easter Bunny) deliver chocolate to all of the good boys and girls while the bells of France sit around smoking cigarettes with their mistresses and collect their pensions.
4. The Easter Bunny narrowly edged out the Easter Aardvark for the position of holiday mascot, mostly thanks to a strong showing in the swimsuit competition.
5. Easter Peeps are made from a secret blend of sugar and styrofoam and have been proven to cause diabetes, urinary tract infections and exploding head fever.

Easter Peeps are made in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, also know as “Christmas City USA”, which nicely ties the birth and rebirth together. I’m not sure where the exploding head fever fits in yet but I’m working on it - the apocalypse maybe?
