Five Day Weekend

You gotta hand it to the French: they might not know how to pronounce words beginning with "th"; they might not know how to apply anti-perspirant; but they sure know how to take holidays.  Today is World War II Victory Day, which for some reason the French celebrate despite the fact that they had nothing to do with the war (unless you count waiting tables for the occupying armies).  Irony aside, it's a nice excuse to take a mid-week break, and since this year it falls on a Thursday most people are taking Friday off, too.  To make matters even better, Monday is a religious holiday: Pentecost.  I'm not really sure what Pentecost is or whether I'm supposed to do something for it (other than sleep in), but this year it means that we essentially have a five-day weekend.  Yeah, you guys in the U.S. might be able to do your shopping on Sunday or find a grocery store open after 8:00, but when was the last time you had a weekend that lasted longer than your work week?
