Farts: funny at any age
For centuries man has pondered the stars, the meaning of life and, of course, why farts are funny. There's no simple explanation as to why poots are humorous; it's best not to try to overanalyze them and just accept gas-passing for the rich source of comedic material it can be. Still, I've always wondered at what point farts become funny. Clearly kids think they're hilarious, as do sophisticated and urbane fans of Zucker brothers movies, but how old does a kid have to be to appreciate the subtle nuances of a ripe, vibratto brap?
Sofia helped answer this question the other day while in the kitchen with Pegs. Pegs was cooking at the stove while Sofia played on the floor, and when nature honked its horn at Pegs, she tooted her horn right back. Pegs didn't think much of it until she heard Sofia giggling, so she turned around, at which point Sofia pointed to her butt, said "Kaka" and kept on laughing. So there you go: farts become funny somewhere around 18 months.
P.S. Sofia seems to be getting obsessed with bodily functions. Yesterday she picked up her doll, said "kaka" and smelled the doll's butt. She then said "Nooo", shook her head and walked away. That's my girl, ladies and gentlemen.

I guess what I find funniest about this is that the old video of her preparing for her birthday has her saying a very similar word about cake. That must lead to some funny Sofia conversations!
