Thirty-three years ago today my mother was patiently sitting in the waiting room of the hospital to be admitted when her second child, affectionately known as Niko-shit, decided she had had enough and popped her head out to see what the hold-up was. Happy birthday sister! My birthday wish for you is that The Monkey won't drive you completely bonkers when mom leaves on Monday. Good luck with that.
And because I dare not post a picture of her without her express approval, here is a picture of her beautiful daughters. Notice the adorable way Alexandra is screaming into Eva's face because Eva was crying.

happy birthday nikki!
Happy birthday, Niki!
And, despite the screaming into the little baby's face, that IS an adorable picture. Let's face it. You're kids simply cannot help but be adorable.
Chronia pola, Niko-shit! That's Greekie for "Happy Birthday," for all you ignoramuses out there. C'mon people; Greeking isn't all that hard. Get with the times.
Why with the Niko-shit? That seems mean. As a younger sibling, Pegs, were you really able to get away with that as a kid? If so, you had a very different family than ours.
Also, did your parents join in with this name? If so, you have a very similar family to ours.
Thanks everyone.
As for the photo, little sister, you know that photos don't do my exquisite beauty justice.
And no, Yoda didn't call me Nikoshit- she was too scared I'd try to kill her again with a broom handle.
Happy Birthday to the best mom and wife in the whole world. We love you very much.
It was a childhood nickname used by the cousins. Not all the time, but every now and then. I have no idea how it started. And yes, once she did try to kill me with a broom handle.
I think the broom handle story must be told in full at some point. Inquiring Dereks want to know more. Perhaps a "something you may not know about Pegs and Nik" post?
