Chateau of the Week
OK, the first thing that you should know about Pegs is that she is not to be completely trusted. Completely loved, yes. Totally admired, yes. Thoroughly studied in scientific experiments, perhaps. But trusted about telling you who won the Chateau of the Week game? Not so much.As you can probably guess at this point, Pegs did not win the game last week (or any other week, for that matter). That honor goes instead to Elizabeth "One Two Three" Fortune, whose guess of €5.5/6 million was depressingly accurate. The actual sales price for last week's entry was €6 million, which once again proves my theory that money can indeed buy happiness, but I can't come close to affording it. A lucky guess can, however, win you a fabulous prize, as evidenced by this week's payout to Ms. Fortune: a lifetime supply of smoked salmon dill thingies. They're scrum-diddly-umptious.
Not everyone can be as Fortune-ate as little Elizabeth, however, so here's a list of this week's non-winners and their consolation prizes:
2nd place: Damien "Damn It" Vanderpool and "Doo" Dad, each with a bid of €4.15 million, who win a lifetime of dreaming that I will support them in their retirement. HA!
3rd place: Michael "I Love Lee's" Harris, with a bid of €3.5 million, who wins a lifetime supply of flowing curly hair (both his and Jill's).
4th place: "Frying" Panagiota Alexandropoulos, with a bid of €3.45237 million, who wins the Tannest-Godmother-at-a-Baptism-Ever Award.
5th place: Eric "Schwing!" Schwesinger, with a bid of €3.45236 million, who wins an unlimited supply of IM taglines.
6th place: Rachel "Lyndon" Johnson, with a bid of €3.14159265, who wins Pegs' world-famous recipe for Easy Ass Pie.
7th place: Derek "I Live In A" Vanderpool, with a bid of €3 million, who wins a very special version of The Little Mermaid.
8th place: Kathryn "Kath-rout" Schwesinger, with a bid of €2.678 million, who wins the right to author her very own "Why I Blame Eric" post on the blog.
9th place: Claire "De Lune" Skrinda, with a bid of €2.5 million, who wins a lifetime supply of dryyyyyyyy omelettes.
10th place: Rita "Charoff" Charon, with a bid of €2.25 million, who wins a spectacularly renovated Paris apartment for one week before it needs to be rented out.
11th place: Ariel "Under the Sea" Davis, with a bid of €2 million, who wins the right to pinch the next person who asks if her parents are big Disney fans.
